Four ways to start the cut.

A good relay begins with one rule another person can see and repeat. These four playbooks use RelayFrame’s real in-app prompts and keep the creative ask concrete.

01 · SAME POSE, NEW PLACE

Keep one silhouette steady while the world changes behind it.

Match the pose and let the background jump.
Set
Choose a full-body or waist-up pose with a clear horizon and room around the subject.
Match
Line up the head, shoulders, and horizon with the ghost guide; let the new location stay visibly different.
Pass
Pass the newest frame to someone in a contrasting place and ask for the same pose—not the same background.
Reveal
The person appears to jump between rooms, streets, trips, or time zones.

02 · THEN & NOW

Turn one owned family or personal photo into a careful recreation.

Recreate an old frame with today's people and place.
Set
Use a photo you are allowed to share. Notice the crop, eye line, spacing, and one memorable object.
Match
Rebuild the composition before chasing small details; the changed years should remain visible.
Pass
Invite only people who expect the photo and are comfortable appearing in the finished relay.
Reveal
The cut holds the composition still while the people, place, and years change.

03 · OUTFIT SWITCH

Lock the body position, then let color, texture, and styling do the cut.

Hold the pose. Change everything else.
Set
Pick a pose with separated arms and a stable camera height so the silhouette is easy to repeat.
Match
Align the face, hands, and feet first. Keep the new outfit distinct enough to read in one beat.
Pass
Send the target to a willing friend or keep the relay solo with a second look.
Reveal
The person stays planted while each frame lands as a clean wardrobe transformation.

04 · PASS THE OBJECT

Use one ordinary object as the visual baton between people or places.

Keep one object aligned as it travels between frames.
Set
Choose a recognizable, safe object and hold it away from the frame edge with a clear hand position.
Match
Keep the object’s size, angle, and handoff direction aligned; change the person or location around it.
Pass
Pass the relay file—not the physical object—and make the newest frame the next exact target.
Reveal
The object appears to travel through a chain of original moments.

RelayFrame is still pre-TestFlight and is not publicly downloadable. These playbooks do not upload a photo, start a challenge, or contact anyone.

When a signed beta exists, every relay will still require an explicit file handoff and every film will still require a privacy review before export.
